In July 2016, the city’s premier hotel closed its doors to undergo a $140M transformation of the almost 1,000-room Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth in downtown Montréal. The renovation is a full-scale initiative, from basement to rooftop. Montréal’s most iconic hotel will transform into one of the most technologically advanced and innovative hotels in North America, all while preserving its vintage flair and heritage building. The hotel plans to reopen its doors in in July of 2017 to coincide with Montréal’s 375th anniversary celebration and the 150th Anniversary of Canadian Confederation.

Dundee 360 has managed and continues to oversee other Hotel properties on behalf of Ivanhoé Cambridge, a subsidiary of the Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec, under the Fairmont brand.

Our role

Project management
  1. Repositioning and project management of renovations for the hotel’s guestrooms and public spaces.
  2. Advising and management of capital expenditure program and investments.
  3. Sourcing and procurement of Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment (FF&E).
  4. Strategic advice the hotel’s banner activities to maximize return on investment.
  5. Bridging hotel ownership and management to enhance property performance.
  6. Financial Reporting, Liquidity Management and Treasury functions.
  7. Portfolio analysis and risk management of customizations across diverse work groups.
  8. Selection of food service operators, retail and commercial operators, and negotiation of agreements.
